Hoyt council approves minutes, waives $120 sewer charge and authorizes $2,500 in computer upgrades

At its Feb. 4 meeting the Hoyt City Council approved routine business and several motions. Joe Romans moved to approve the Jan. 7, 2025 minutes, with Larry Valdez seconding; the motion carried. Debbie Dreasher moved to waive $120 of sewer charges for the account at 200 Annetta because service had been turned off; Joe Romans seconded and the motion carried. Leonard Allen moved, and Joe Romans seconded, to enter a five-minute executive session to discuss information security with the city clerk, city attorney and chief of police; the council entered and later exited the session.
After the executive session, Joe Romans moved to approve computer upgrades to be completed by The Computer Doctors in the amount of $2,500; Leonard Allen seconded and the motion carried. Romans also moved to pay bills, seconded by Larry Valdez; the motion carried. Joe Romans moved to adjourn; Debbie Dreasher seconded and the meeting adjourned at 8:27 p.m.
The council requested that a Cox Communications representative be asked to attend a future meeting to discuss the proposed fiber project before any work begins, and the clerk will follow up with LRS about a dumpster left at the community building.
