The Myrtle Creek City Council on June 2 unanimously approved a package of fiscal resolutions, including certification to receive state revenue sharing and adoption of the 2026–27 city budget.
Councilor Jamie McElmurry moved to adopt Resolution 26-05, a resolution to the Oregon Department of Administrative Services certifying the city’s qualification to receive state revenue sharing funds; Councilor Cathey Wragg seconded and the motion passed with votes recorded as YES: Rick Held, Cathey Wragg, Diana Larson, Robert Chaney Sr., and Jamie McElmurry. The council then approved Resolution 26-06 declaring the city’s election to receive state revenues.
The council also approved Resolution 26-07, imposing ad valorem taxes and categorizing the tax levy under ORS 310.060(2). Following that, the council adopted Resolution 26-08, the 2026–2027 city budget, and Resolution 26-09 making appropriations. Each motion passed unanimously with the same recorded roll-call of affirmative votes.
Why it matters: adopting the budget and making appropriations sets the city’s spending plan for the coming fiscal year and establishes the tax levy category under state statute, enabling the city to proceed with revenue collection and planned spending through fiscal year 2026–27.
