Representatives of the Putney Volunteer Firefighters Association presented the town with a $10,000 donation to support purchase of a Lifepak 15 cardiac monitor/defibrillator.
Billy Straus presented the check to the Town of Putney and also summarized Fire & Rescue activity from Oct. 28 through Dec. 10, 2024: 69 total calls, including 27 fire calls, 35 EMS calls and 7 co-responses. Selectboard members noted that training remains ongoing.
Peg Alden, speaking for the Fire & Rescue Advisory Committee, announced that a community conversation has been rescheduled to Dec. 16 (5:30 .m. to 7:00 p.m.) to provide further updates and solicit community input. The advisory committee and town staff will use that forum to discuss equipment needs and community expectations.
The donation and staffing update aim to support EMS readiness while the department continues training and community outreach; no purchase order or procurement action was recorded in the minutes at this meeting.
