Putney Selectboard elects officers, sets biweekly meeting schedule and names newspapers and attorneys

The Putney Selectboard reorganized its leadership and confirmed several administrative appointments at its March 5 meeting.
Selectboard members elected Eric McGowan as chair after a nomination by Selectboard member Fletcher Proctor and a second from Peg Alden. Selectboard member Aileen Tulloch nominated Peg Alden for vice chair, seconded by Bex Slattery, and the board elected her to that post. Eric McGowan nominated Fletcher Proctor as clerk and Aileen Tulloch seconded; that motion also passed. The board then recorded the officers as Chair: Eric McGowan; Vice Chair: Peg Alden; Clerk: Fletcher Proctor.
The board also reviewed its Rules of Procedure and set the recurring meeting schedule. Selectboard member Aileen Tulloch moved to set regular meetings on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. at Putney Town Hall and on Zoom beginning March 19, 2025, on a bi‑weekly cadence; the motion passed.
In other administrative business the board designated The Commons as the primary newspaper of record and the Brattleboro Reformer as the alternate after a motion moved by Aileen Tulloch and seconded by Peg Alden. Fletcher Proctor moved to designate Sahnon & Nostrand as the primary town attorney and Fisher & Fisher Law Offices (Robert M. Fisher) as the alternate; that motion passed after a second from Aileen Tulloch.
The meeting was called to order by Selectboard member Aileen Tulloch at 5:30 p.m. and adjourned at 6:47 p.m. The board set its next meeting for Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
