Putney Selectboard accepts property assessment correction, advances budget prep

On finance and budgeting, Town Manager Karen Astley presented a timeline of deadlines ahead of Town Meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Putney Central School. Draft budgets for library, sewer and water are in draft form; highway has a significant pending capital item — a dump truck — and the town is awaiting additional pricing before selecting an option. The Manager proposed Selectboard budget review meetings in December with the goal of final draft budgets by Jan. 8, 2025.
The board also reviewed warrants: payroll dated Nov. 29, 2024 for $22,843.81 (including Recreation Coordinator pay and noting Fire & Rescue logged 169.25 hours in the past two weeks for trainings) and accounts payable for Nov. 16–29, 2024 for $80,010.34. Nate Snell moved to approve the warrants upon completion of review; Peg Alden seconded and the minutes record the motion passed without listing vote counts.
The Selectboard set its next regular meeting for Dec. 11, 2024 and adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
