District Engineer Charlie Krebs presented a revised scope of work for the Seaside & Master Drainage Project and said the contractor (MRI) expects work to commence within two to three weeks. Krebs also detailed ancillary irrigation costs related to the project, including $4,002.50 to repair damaged wiring and roughly $1,300 each to raise seven to eight irrigation heads.
On a motion by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Bob Schultz, the board approved the Irrigation Concepts change order to repair wiring and raise irrigation heads in a not‑to‑exceed amount of $15,000; the motion passed with all supervisors voting in favor.
Staff and the engineer noted the revised drainage scope is intended to allow operations staff flexibility to make system changes while keeping the project’s original intent. The board did not set a separate timetable for when the ancillary irrigation work will be completed beyond the change‑order approval.
