Residents urge limits on construction‑vehicle parking on Bluff Street; Selectboard to review

Two Bluff Street residents told the Town of Proctor Selectboard on May 12 that a neighbor’s company work trucks, trailers and a dumpster have frequently been parked in the road or right‑of‑way, narrowing the street to one lane and interfering with winter plowing.
Henry George and Mina Ganguly‑Kiefner asked the board to consider a parking ordinance that would restrict construction‑vehicle parking on town roads and right‑of‑way. "We would like to see an ordinance that restricts construction vehicle parking on roads and ROW," the residents said. Town Manager Judy Frazier said she had sent letters to the resident; the vehicles were moved for a time but the issue persisted.
The Selectboard agreed to inspect the property by doing a drive‑by, and directed the Town Manager to contact RCS (regional/county services) for guidance. The item was placed on the May 27 Selectboard agenda for further consideration.
