The Town of Ocean Ridge special magistrate hearing on April 7 addressed a number of parking citations, resolving some and continuing others for lack of certified‑mail service.
In case PD2026‑009, respondent Mark Moll told the magistrate he had parked briefly near a construction site and missed the 10‑day payment deadline; the town offered to waive administrative fees if he paid on the spot. The magistrate ordered payment of the $50 fine and waived administrative costs.
Several other parking notices were continued because the town did not have confirmed certified‑mail delivery to respondents. The magistrate removed those items from the agenda to allow the town to re‑service and re‑notice the hearings.
In case PD2026‑006 (PB Holding Corp), the town presented signed certified‑mail service and photographic evidence of a vehicle improperly parked in Hammock Park. The magistrate entered the town’s composite exhibit and assessed the $40 violation fine and the town’s administrative costs of $184.88 in the respondent’s absence.
Magistrate Amity Barnard noted that code enforcement often posts notices in addition to certified mail because of uneven delivery outcomes and that continuing a case for re‑service is standard when paperwork is not conclusively delivered.
Orders reflecting fines, waivers, or continuances will be mailed to the parties and noted in the case files.
