The Senate State Affairs Committee voted March 19 to recommend HCR 17 to the full Senate with a do-pass recommendation. Senator Toews presented the resolution, saying it affirms that the Idaho Legislature values civility and debate and condemns the political violence and intimidation that recently occurred in North Idaho.
Norma Staaf testified in support and thanked law enforcement for their work at the Capitol. Senator Harris moved for a do-pass recommendation to the floor, and Senator Adams seconded; the motion carried by voice vote.
The resolution will be scheduled for floor consideration with the committee’s do-pass recommendation.
