The mayor asked for and received a motion to add a nuisance-animals item to the docket. Board members reported that a licensed trapper had offered to respond to police nuisance calls and relocate animals at no cost; the board directed the city attorney to draft an agreement clarifying that the trapper would not be an employee and would bear his own liability.
The board appointed Lance Strahan to the short-term rental committee and asked that the committee be given clear parameters and a meeting cadence at the next session. The board also authorized the city engineer and public works to inspect a damaged corridor on Beat Line Road near Spring Drive and return with recommendations for repairs.
Other routine matters approved included ratifying a missed payment and approving a fire-department step increase. The mayor also reported one library resignation and alerted members to partial movement of the harbor inner bulkhead; staff said they would assess schedule impacts.
