VTrans tells Orwell the VT‑22A reconstruction is paused pending funding

The letter, signed by Matthew Bogaczyk, P.E., Program Manager for Highway Safety and Design, explains that fiscal constraints have required VTrans to prioritize projects that are at more advanced stages and to limit the number of large reconstruction projects in any given year.
Bogaczyk wrote that the VT‑22A corridor has been reviewed against other projects and, as a result of budget realities, other projects will be advanced ahead of VT‑22A. "This process reflects only a pause in the development phase until the budget picture shows availability for these projects to advance into construction," the letter states. The agency said the precise slide in schedule and construction window are not yet defined and that VTrans will continue to monitor program constraints and adjust as conditions change.
The letter was included in the meeting materials and provides a VTrans contact (matthew.bogaczyk@vermont.gov) for questions. The board did not record a formal action on the update; the memorandum is informational and places the VT‑22A reconstruction later in the agency's construction sequencing due to funding constraints.
