Selectboard appoints auditor, approves Garage cameras and signs; minutes approved

At the May 18 meeting the Selectboard voted unanimously to appoint Mark Neff as an auditor after Linda Schmidt said she had invited him to serve and he agreed. Rob Viglas moved to appoint Neff and Linda seconded; the vote was unanimous.
The board approved a quoted $2,500 expense to install security cameras at the Town Garage from contractor Mike Oltedal. Linda Schmidt moved to approve the expense, Rob Viglas seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Linda Schmidt said she had researched approaches to littering enforcement used by other towns and noted the state law includes a $500 fine for littering; the board agreed to put an existing no-littering sign near the yellow farmhouse on Sandgate Road and consider another sign for West Sandgate.
Other routine business: an RFP for the Town Garage lighting project was posted on Front Porch Forum; a written proposal reflecting recommendations from Jordan Plummer of Sullivan Powers will be prepared for the board before the next meeting. The board approved minutes from the May 4 meeting. John Phelps moved to adjourn, Joe Nolan seconded; the meeting adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
