Sandgate considers litter ordinance after successful Green-Up Day

The board did not draft an ordinance at the meeting but signaled interest in exploring options and inquiring with VLCT on enforceability and enforcement mechanisms. The Conservation Commission’s planting work and pending Watershed grant were also discussed in the same context of local stewardship.
Next steps: Staff will contact VLCT for guidance on enforcement and report back to the board; the Selectboard may return to the topic once enforcement and funding questions are clarified.
