Richford selectboard approves coin drop, changes meeting time and plans follow-ups on parking and peddlers’ ordinance

At its April 20 meeting the Town of Richford Selectboard approved several administrative items and directed staff to pursue follow-up work on parking enforcement and the peddler's ordinance.
The board approved the Fire Department’s request for a coin drop on April 25; Chair Steinhour moved to approve and Selectman Joesph Desmarais seconded, with the motion passing unanimously. Selectman Desmarais later moved to change the regular meeting start time from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Chair Steinhour seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Members discussed concerns about tenants parking on River Street in front of businesses and asked staff to research options, including revising the parking ordinance to prohibit parking by tenants on business-fronting streets or using vehicle immobilization (boots) and to check associated liability. The Planning Commission has not yet recommended a candidate for zoning administrator and will repost the position with more details; the Selectboard plans a special meeting with Planning to discuss the posting. The peddler's ordinance is in its final review stage and will be presented to the board after Town Clerk Kiley Deuso reviews it.
The board also discussed a cadet program and asked staff to gather additional information; a question about AEMT shift coverage was raised and will require follow-up with the Fire Department.
