Downtown Estacada Commission lays out plans for Uncorked, Fourth of July parade and Oktoberfest

At its June 1 meeting the Downtown Estacada Commission reviewed logistics for several upcoming summer events, asking volunteers to help promote and staff Uncorked and confirming steps to improve parade and Oktoberfest operations.
Chair Redmond said Uncorked is scheduled for this Saturday and that the event will run roughly from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; she said about 18 vendors are signed up and that vendor check-in is expected around 8–8:30 a.m. The commission discussed printed flyers and yard signs, with staff saying materials can be printed at city hall and one commissioner offering to distribute flyers to local businesses. Staff estimated the commission’s e-newsletter reaches about "1,500 or 1,600" recipients.
On parade logistics the commission decided check-in will be at the library to reduce congestion and set a limit on large vehicles: entries with vehicles over 40 feet must take an alternate route out to the highway and re-enter farther up Broadway to avoid tight turns. The commission said staff has ordered dumpsters and extra garbage cans and that the Clackamas County sheriff may provide traffic support at key intersections for safety.
For Oktoberfest, commissioners said Boring Brewing will manage alcohol-vendor coordination and licensing with the OLCC, and staff are pursuing a portable speaker system that could be used at multiple events. The commission also said it has received two bids for drone videography of the July 4 parade and expects to award that contract within about a week to collect aerial and ground footage for promotion.
Commissioners urged volunteers to sign up for litter patrol, yard-sign placement and vendor check-in. The commission plans to print and distribute flyers to locations including the post office, Harvest Market and Ace Hardware.
