The Downtown Estacada Commission voted June 1 to forward an applicant identified as Talia to the City Council for approval and unanimously approved minutes from its May 4 meeting. The commission will submit Talia’s nomination in time for the council meeting scheduled for next Monday.
Talia told commissioners she grew up in Estacada and recently moved back from Clackamas. “I grew up in Estacada,” she said, noting experience as an event coordinator at Adult and Teen Challenge and informal experience planning weddings and community events. She described herself as available to help with event planning, design and marketing for the commission.
Commissioner Taylor moved to present Talia’s name to the City Council; Margie seconded and the motion passed by voice vote. The commission’s chair said staff would forward the nomination to the council by the next meeting.
The minutes from the May 4 meeting were approved after a motion and second and by a voice vote that recorded ayes. The commission did not record dissenting votes during either action.
Talia said she would consider attending future commission meetings and that she could help with upcoming events when available. The City Council will make the final appointment at its next meeting.
