The City of Pierre Board of Commissioners unanimously approved Resolution 2807 on Feb. 3, 2026, authorizing the plat of Lot 5R, Bernie’s Replat, for property at 750 W. 2nd Street.
City Planner Emeline Post presented the replat on behalf of property owners Gene and Dannielle Campbell. Post said the proposal would combine the owners’ existing lot with Lot 3 of Huizenga Acres to create Lot 5R and resolve an outstanding nonconforming parcel. She noted the existing house will continue to meet applicable setback requirements.
Commissioner Huizenga moved to approve Resolution 2807 and Commissioner Johnson seconded the motion. The commission voted unanimously to adopt the resolution.
The signed resolution names the affected parcels as a replat of Lot 7A, Block 7, Oahe Addition; the southeast 4.9 feet of Lot 4 and all of Lot 5 of Bernie’s Replat of Lot 8, Block 7, Oahe Addition; and Lot 3, Huizenga Acres, City of Pierre, Hughes County, South Dakota. The document was attested by Finance Officer Lacey Walz and signed by Mayor Steve Harding.
Next steps: the approved plat is the formal land-record action needed for the property owners to merge the described parcels; the meeting did not record any appeals or further conditions on the approval.
