Bayshore Gardens board approves 3-month trial with My World Lawn Care over staff-only maintenance

The Bayshore Gardens board voted May 27 to hire My World Lawn Care for a three-month trial period to supplement district maintenance. Trustee Barbara Susdorf said the company returned a revised estimate to the board’s request; under the trial district staff would continue mowing, weed-eating and spraying while My World Lawn Care would handle other specified tasks.
Susdorf moved to hire My World Lawn Care for a three-month trial; Trustee T. Zimmerly seconded. The motion passed 3–2, with Trustees K. Weatherly and Chairman Cori Howell recorded as voting no.
Supporters said the arrangement would allow the district’s staff to focus on routine grounds tasks while outsourcing heavier or specialized work. Opponents said they were reluctant to change operations and flagged cost and oversight concerns. The motion included a three-month trial period to allow the board to review results before committing to a longer-term agreement.
The board also approved several other operational items during the meeting, including pool access plans and an ice-machine installation for the marina; those items are recorded separately in district actions.
These minutes have not yet been approved; the trial hiring will be reviewed at a subsequent publicly noticed meeting.
