At its Jan. 8 meeting the Ashley Community Forest Board reviewed governance and administrative items including a recap of their Interlocal Agreement, recruitment for a vacant Strafford seat, and financial roles.
Chair David Paganelli summarized the Interlocal Agreement's background and the board agreed it is useful to review the agreement periodically to ensure governance and financial responsibilities are understood. Kevin Gish reported the Board received one letter of interest from Judith Falk for the vacant Strafford position (term ending March 2028); KG has provided copies of Falk's letter to board members and updated the Strafford website with the Town Clerk to remove the At-Large opening. The Board agreed to table discussion and any appointment until the next meeting to allow for possible additional applicants.
The board discussed filling the treasurer role and agreed to wait until after the Strafford seat is filled. Kevin Gish offered to take on the treasurer role if another member was willing to serve as secretary. DP reported that he had the 2025 annual report submitted to both towns and that ES will check whether Annie Penfield previously submitted a budget to both towns.
The Board approved the meeting agenda (with Item #6 removed) and approved prior meeting minutes as presented. The Board scheduled its next meeting for Feb. 12, 2026 at the Sharon Town Office.
