West Stockbridge planning board moves to prepare Subdivision Control Law update, considers BRPC help for Seasonal Communities grant

The West Stockbridge Planning Board on July 7 moved to continue preparing an update to the towns Subdivision Control Law and discussed using a grant and regional planning support to advance related zoning work.
Chair Dana Bixby said she was proposing a joint meeting with the selectboard to discuss the Seasonal Communities Grant and expects the board will vote to hire Berkshire Regional Planning (BRPC) to prepare the grant application. Bixby said some grant funds could be used to support zoning changes.
Bixby invited Jennifer Tabakin to summarize her work on the Subdivision Control Law (SCL) regulations. Tabakin reported she is reviewing prior coordination efforts and said the earlier work by David Schecker is "very good," providing updates and an index. She said she will continue preparing the SCL regulations for re-adoption at a public hearing. Bixby proposed that the board plan to vote on July 21 to set a public hearing, possibly for Aug. 18, 2026.
The meeting also confirmed upcoming hybrid meetings on July 21, Aug. 4 and Aug. 18. The board approved prior minutes for April 21 and June 16 earlier in the session and adjourned at 8:12 p.m. on a unanimous vote.
Minutes and procedural motions recorded at the July 7 meeting included approval of the April 21, 2026 minutes (motion by Christopher Tonini; second by Andrew Fudge; vote recorded as Dana Bixby, Christopher Tonini and Andrew Fudge voting yes; motion passed 3-0), approval of the June 16, 2026 minutes (motion by Ryan Beattie; second by Andrew Fudge; unanimous vote 5-0), and a motion to adjourn at 8:12 p.m. (motion by Andrew Fudge; second by Jared Gelormino; unanimous vote 5-0).
