Selectmen agree to export Libby Museum catalog and meet with new nonprofit after CTU review

Selectmen heard requests related to the Libby Museum collection on May 20 and agreed to provide controlled access to the catalog and to meet with a newly formed nonprofit group about trusteeship and donor intent.
Representatives of the Friends of the Living Museum and a newly formed Libby Preservation Alliance asked the board for the laptop and catalog used to inventory the collection. Board members and staff agreed to export the data to a cloud drive rather than hand over a device, but asked that staff redact any sensitive information first and keep a written list of items and files provided.
The friends also reported recent contact with the New Hampshire Charitable Trust Unit (CTU). The group said CTU staff had advised there is no fixed financial requirement for new trustees and that some prior statements to the contrary reflected different staff or circumstances; the board asked for a written summary of that CTU conversation and a copy of any minutes or correspondence.
The board voted to meet with the new nonprofit if the group supplies an agenda and asked staff to pursue an appraisal plan (estimated $9,000–$10,000) to document the collection for insurance and conservation planning.
