City Manager Andrea Rogers introduced Amy Szilagyi and said she is eager to serve residents and the council. Mayor Witt Anderson moved to appoint Szilagyi; Councilor Ron Wright seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Finance Director Monica Morris presented a budget calendar that calls for a budget committee meeting on May 7 and a public hearing in June to consider the proposed budget and any amendments. Councilor Lydia Koerner moved to appoint Morris as budget officer; Councilor Noah Estes seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Council asked staff to advertise for community members to join the budget committee and to publish the proposed budget in the newspaper ahead of the June hearing. City Manager Rogers also listed related follow-ups including continuing recruitment for budget committee members and preparing for the May 7 budget meeting.
