The presenter said the changes are designed to align handbook language with co-curricular expectations.
A trustee asked whether the extra minute in passing time meaningfully alters the school calendar. Staff replied it provides roughly a two-day buffer for emergency days and better aligns the high school schedule with other buildings. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the Hamilton High School handbook as presented.
Board members indicated they would follow up on implementation details and where necessary provide metrics or communication to families before the start of the school year.
