The chair opened a public hearing and called for anyone to speak for or against the budget; no members of the public approached the lectern. Commissioner North moved to approve resolution 26‑26 and Commissioner Laird seconded the motion. The commission approved the resolution by voice vote and the chair announced the measure had passed.
Why it matters: the adopted budget sets staffing and program funding for the coming fiscal year, implements salary recommendations from a recent compensation and classification study and provides appropriations for the county’s mandated services and other local projects noted in the clerk’s report.
