At the June 24 meeting Planning Director Adam Burney told the Sudbury Planning Board that the state has established new timeline guidelines for permitting battery and energy-storage facilities. Burney said as of October town boards must complete reviews and approvals for such projects within a 12-month period.
The board discussed the timeline as an administrative matter and did not take formal action; Burney framed the change as a new statewide scheduling requirement that town staff and boards will need to track during upcoming permit reviews.
