Mayor Knight updates council on Pinnacle development, building renovations and proposed landfill weather station

Mayor Kathi Knight told the Manila Town Council on June 18 that a letter flagging concerns about the Pinnacle Development Agreement—including fire protection, emergency access and signage—had been sent to a person identified as Jeremy and that no response had been received. Councilmember Gretchen Northcott said she had not received the final letter; the mayor agreed to resend it.
Knight also updated the council on recent building upgrades. New furniture has been installed in the town facility with a few remaining items to purchase; some pieces arrived damaged and Utah Office Supply/Global was notified. Knight said representatives from the supplier will inspect the installation and that the town plans an open house that will display before-and-after renovation photographs.
On municipal operations, Knight proposed a Simply SCADA weather station and solar enclosure at the landfill to provide site-specific wind data and better inform closure decisions during high-wind events; the estimated cost is roughly $4,000. She said a card reader for landfill debit payments could also be added in the future to improve payment convenience and accountability. Councilmember Northcott expressed support for both items. Knight said she would confirm technical capabilities for public access to data and proceed with a service order after informing the council; no formal motion was taken.
