Members of the Sharon Planning Commission worked through a series of edits to the towns Subdivision Regulations at their Jan. 13 meeting and agreed they are nearing completion.
Commissioner Sue Sellew circulated additional edits prior to the meeting; the Commission addressed most suggested changes, which primarily involved language, phrasing and format. Several remaining issues require legal or statutory reference. Commissioner Andrew Cliburn and Planning Administrator Alexandra Babicki were assigned to reference the relevant State statute so the local rules mirror statutory requirements. The Commission discussed next steps and asked Alexandra to prepare the draft for review by the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission.
Separately, Babicki provided brief updates on ongoing permit applications (Griffo, Kelton, Scott), noting those applicants were not ready for formal review in January and expect review at the February meeting. She also flagged three recent development inquiries, including one potential project in a flood hazard zone that may come before the Development Review Board in the future.
Procedural motions during the meeting included unanimous approval of minutes from Dec. 9, 2025 and May 13, 2025 (motion by Dee Gish, seconded by Dana Colson) and an adjournment motion by Chair John Roe seconded by Lucy Gibson, approved unanimously at 8:51 PM.
