Selectboard rescinds 2010 ethics policy, approves warrants and permits; overnight-camping ordinance takes effect Jan. 16

At its Jan. 5 meeting the Sharon Selectboard took several procedural actions: it rescinded the 2010 Code of Ethics Policy, ratified a series of payroll and accounts-payable warrants, approved a driveway permit, and confirmed that the Overnight Camping Ordinance will take effect Jan. 16, 2026.
Kevin Gish moved to rescind the 2010 Code of Ethics Policy; Ted Austin seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Town Administrator Nicola Shipman presented a draft replacement policy for future discussion and said the 2025 Code of Ethics Investigation and Enforcement Ordinance currently meets statutory requirements.
The board approved payroll and AP warrants, including a payroll cash draw of $24,678.16 and AP Warrant numbers 2009 ($7,780.00), 2010 ($24,498.89), 2011 ($5,624.71), 2012 ($2,629.15), 2013 ($2,050.63), 2014 ($1,859.98), 2015 ($2,113.20) and 2016 ($2,377.41 from the Old School House Fund). Each motion was made and recorded as approved unanimously.
The Selectboard also approved a driveway permit for B. Siskin at 2488 Chapel Hill Road and ratified changes to PVR-4261-E to include parcel N140015R owned by Camp Curtis, LLC. The board set or confirmed several upcoming dates related to Town Meeting and nominating petitions.
Shipman and staff reiterated preparations for grants and the Town Report, and noted the Sharon Skills Swap event scheduled for Feb. 7 at Sharon Elementary School; Shipman will share additional budget and funding information as it becomes available.
