Highway Supervisor Allen Wight presented a quote from Vermont Tree Company that was lower than earlier estimates and emphasized urgency because of recent ice and a forecast of rain followed by freezing temperatures. Selectboard Chair Scott Henkels moved to approve the expenditure; Ted Austin seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Wight also reported operational concerns at the Town Garage, noting commercial-grade sanders have been entering the municipal sand pile to load sand. He said he and Town Administrator Nicola Shipman will create and post a sign at the garage entrance and that Shipman has posted the Town Sand Pile Policy on the town website, Facebook and the town listserv.
Next steps: Highway staff will coordinate with Vermont Tree Company to schedule the removals and post the new garage signage.
