Sharon selectboard endorses Appraisal Resource Group for town-wide reappraisal

Ken Wright, the town lister, told the Selectboard that an Errors and Omissions correction did not change the Grand List but fixed a parcel mistakenly marked inactive; the board accepted and signed the report.
Wright reviewed two proposals for a town-wide reappraisal and said the statewide backlog of reappraisal contractors has driven costs up by about $100 per parcel. The Listers recommended awarding the contract to Appraisal Resource Group, Inc. of Essex Junction. Wright said work would likely begin in April 2026 and conclude in July 2027, and he will provide a draft contract for the Selectboard to review in January.
The board recorded its support for the Listers' recommendation and will consider the draft contract at a future meeting. The decision follows the Listers’ presentation and does not yet constitute a signed contract; the Selectboard will review the proposed agreement when the draft is submitted.
