Estacada arts commission plans library exhibits, family workshop and summer passport distribution

The Estacada Area Arts Commission reviewed upcoming library exhibits, a proposed family workshop and distribution logistics for the summer passport program.
Committee member (S5) said the current library exhibit was packed up and a new artist is due to drop off work on June 8 at about 2:50 p.m.; with a gap in October the commission discussed either extending the current show or running a community workshop that would leave participant work on the wall for a month. “We can either extend her show through October, or we were thinking it could be really fun to use a community workshop thing ... we could run one,” S5 said.
Members tentatively selected Thursday, Sept. 24, as a target date for hang/turnaround to give families time after school starts. They discussed workshop formats (leaf etching, apple printing, block printing) and options to recruit local printmakers if needed.
Separately, the group discussed the summer passport, which commissioners plan to distribute through schools and local businesses (library and Yo Treats were named drop-off locations). S2 asked volunteers to push distribution and offered to share contact information for school coordination when available.
No formal votes were required; members agreed to follow up with artists and confirm logistics by email and at the July 1 meeting.
