The Estacada Area Arts Commission on a regular meeting night advanced logistics for this summer’s Arts at the Creek event, focusing on vendors, performers and food carts.
Chair (S2) said the commission had two new vendor applications and another youth applicant, bringing the event close to about 25 vendors and 18 youth participants, and that staff would send reminder emails about payments. “We’ve had two more vendor applications and one more youth application, which I think brings us up to, like, 25 and 18,” S2 said.
Jerry (S4) reported the Downtown Estacada Commission has budgeted for a sound system that would carry audio down Broadway for events such as the Harvest Market and Fourth of July, with city staff coordinating installation and a target of having it ready before July 4. Commissioners said amplified sound should make performances and tree-lighting events more audible for a wider audience.
Members also discussed food-cart outreach. S2 said volunteers had contacted a local fusion bao-rito cart and other vendors; the plan is to secure two or three food carts so festival attendees have limited food options. Commissioners noted that food vendors sometimes change year to year and emphasized following up with interested carts.
The commission did not take a formal vote on these items but directed staff and volunteer leads to continue vendor confirmations, pursue food carts and promote the event via social channels and the city newsletter ahead of the festival.
The commission’s next meeting is scheduled for July 1; Arts at the Creek planning and vendor confirmations will continue in advance of the event.
