At its July 14 meeting, the University Heights City Council voted to adopt salaries for city employees for fiscal year 2027 and approved routine license renewals and warrants for payment.
Council Member Nick Herbold moved and Council Member Mackenzie Dwyer seconded Resolution No. 26-57 to approve employee salaries for FY2027; the motion carried unanimously. Later in the meeting Council Member Mackenzie Dwyer moved and Council Member Doug Swailes seconded renewals of two Class C liquor licenses for Marriott Bistro and Heights Rooftop at the Marriott Hotel; both license renewals carried on voice votes.
The treasurer's warrants for June 10 through July 14, 2026 were presented and approved by unanimous consent. The warrants listing includes payroll entries (police officer paychecks and monthly staff pay), insurance and tax payments, and multiple vendor invoices such as Shive Hattery, American Excavation ($68,775.43), All American Concrete ($6,694.94), City of Iowa City contract payments for fire ($21,400.00) and library agreement ($15,365.48). The minutes state the warrants were approved for payment by unanimous consent; the meeting record does not provide a separate roll-call vote for each warrant line.
