The Hillsboro City Council on Monday approved its consent agenda and adopted Ordinance 14‑10 authorizing staff to finalize a lease‑purchase agreement with Central National Bank for equipment the city has already received.
Mayor called the meeting to order and the council approved vouchers totaling $574,474.56, minutes of the July 15 regular meeting, concurrence paperwork for KDOT connecting links along the state highway bordering the city, and an APAC water‑plant pipe closeout certificate. Councilman Wilkins moved to approve the consent agenda; Councilman Jorgensen seconded and the motion carried.
Later in the meeting staff presented Ordinance 14‑10, an authorizing ordinance required to formally close the lease purchase that staff said had moved ahead at the previous meeting. Councilman Bai moved to adopt the ordinance; Councilman Wilkins seconded. The mayor polled the council and recorded affirmative votes from Councilmen Jorgensen, Wilkins, McCarty and Bai; the ordinance was adopted and the mayor will sign the closing documents.
Council also approved invoices to Hillsboro Ford totaling $1,376.97 for vehicle and equipment repairs. Two abstentions were recorded during that vote, and staff confirmed the invoices will be paid.
No additional debate was recorded on the consent agenda items; the mayor said the actions allow staff to complete procurement and closeout steps already in process.
