Clermont council adopts $739,400 FY2027 budget, approves Planning Commission pay

Mayor James Nix and the Clermont Town Council unanimously approved the town's FY2027 budget and a separate resolution setting Planning Commission pay during their June 2 meeting.
The Mayor read Resolution 2026-06-01 aloud, describing it as the proposed FY2027 budget “for $739,400.00.” Council member Seth Weaver moved to approve the budget resolution; Council member John Brady seconded the motion. All council members present voted in favor and the resolution passed.
In the same meeting, the council considered Resolution No. 2026-06-02, described in the minutes as a measure pursuant to section 4.11 of the Town charter to set Planning Commission member compensation at $25.00 per meeting and to allow reimbursement for expenses incurred while performing official duties. Seth Weaver moved to approve the resolution and James Castleberry seconded; the motion passed on a unanimous vote.
Earlier in the meeting the council also approved the meeting agenda (moved by Marcia Kesler, seconded by James Castleberry) and the May 2026 minutes (moved by James Castleberry, seconded by Amanda Nix); both procedural motions passed unanimously.
The council reviewed the April 2026 financial report and the Planning and Zoning report as informational items during the session. The Mayor also noted upcoming Hall County public meetings related to the Unified Development Code and Comprehensive Plan revisions and encouraged resident participation.
Public comment included Gina Pilcher noting additional Hall County meeting dates for residents unable to attend the June 9 meeting, and Roger Nixon offering thanks to the council and staff for their service and work on the new Veterans Park. The council adjourned at 7:36 p.m.
The immediate effects: the FY2027 budget is adopted and in effect as the council approved; the Planning Commission pay policy is set as specified in Resolution No. 2026-06-02. No amendments or dissenting votes were recorded in the minutes.
