Clermont council allocates $10,300 for Chattahoochee Center carpet, approves agenda and minutes

The Clermont Town Council on March 3 unanimously approved the meeting agenda, accepted the February 2026 minutes and voted to allocate $10,300 to replace carpet at the Chattahoochee Center.
Council Member Seth Weaver moved to approve the agenda and later moved to approve the February minutes; both motions were seconded and passed with all council members present voting in favor. Weaver also moved to allocate $10,300 for the Chattahoochee Center carpet replacement; James Castleberry seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Town Clerk Amy Lomax presented three bids for the project: Freeman's Flooring at $10,137; Gainesville Flooring Inc. at $14,221.71; and Anderson Carpet at $9,220. The Anderson quote included a recommendation to use a commercial-grade nylon product that would increase that bidder's price by $990. The council’s allocation of $10,300 aligns closest to the Freeman's Flooring bid; Amy Lomax said she will follow up with Freeman's Flooring to request a revised quote reflecting a more resilient carpet option.
No vote or further action on the January financial report or the Planning and Zoning report was recorded in the minutes. The meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
