Pickens County finance director reports FY26 midyear figures as board approves quarterly report

McDowell summarized key revenue and expenditure percentages through the midyear point. She reported taxes of $5,735,460 (18% of expected budget), license and permit revenue of $343,003 (44%), intergovernmental revenue $1,375,070 (36%), and charges for services $2,000,740 (59%). On the expenditure side, McDowell listed department-level percentages (for example, general government buildings at 57% and public safety overall about 52%). McDowell said staff were preparing post-audit tasks and gearing up for the FY27 budget planning process.
After the presentation there were no substantive questions and the board approved the finance report. McDowell stated finance will continue to provide updates as the tax digest and assessment appeals process progresses.
