Board approves several hires after 15-minute executive session

Following a 15-minute executive session called to discuss personnel matters, the board returned to open session and approved the hiring of multiple staff members.
The board approved hiring Holly Myers as the middle-school counselor and approved part-time food-service hires (Anna Marie Halama and Theophil Halama), grounds and maintenance hires John Holmes and Matt Oliver, and the summer employees as presented. Each hire was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote.
These actions followed the executive-session motion which the chair said would include Dr. Myers and appropriate staff. The chair announced the session and the board voted to enter executive session for 15 minutes; on return the board put each personnel item to a voice vote and approved the hires.
Next steps: new hires will be onboarded according to district personnel procedures; the district will proceed with summer staffing as approved.
