Mayor Brett Baublitz and Councilperson Clark Hubbard said they did not want to implement wage changes on the same night as passing the new budget and agreed further review is needed before any adjustments are made.
The council also approved routine claims and accounts payable as part of the consent agenda earlier in the meeting. The council did not specify an effective date in the meeting minutes for the new fiscal-year appropriations; staff will carry the adopted appropriation schedule forward for implementation and any necessary administrative follow-up.
City Manager Jamey Conn and Treasurer Chris Foster are scheduled to return with any clarifications or implementation steps as needed at a subsequent meeting.
