Ellsworth Board accepts donations and renews OPAA food-service contract

The Ellsworth Board of Education on June 8 voted to accept a slate of donations and to approve an addendum renewing its fixed-price food-service management contract with OPAA.
Board Member Cynthia Edgerle moved to accept donations including $2,700 from the Dane G. Hansen Summer Reading Grant to Ellsworth Elementary School, $2,720 from Cashco for FCCLA, $1,000 from Pattern Energy to FCCLA, $700 from Kiwanis for FCCLA, $300 from Citizens State Bank for FCCLA, $250 from Sunflower Civics Club for FBLA, and $100 from Independent Salt Company toward next year’s EES marathon. The motion, seconded by Board Member Jake Svaty, passed 5-0.
Byron Wofford, director of operations for OPAA, was present to answer Board questions about the district’s food service. Following that discussion, Board Member Edgerle moved to approve an addendum to renew the district’s fixed-price food-service management contract with OPAA. The motion, seconded by Board Member Jake Svaty, passed 5-0.
The donations were recorded as part of routine business; the contract renewal was presented as an addendum to the food-service agreement. No dissenting votes were recorded.
