Edgerton finalizes Glendell Acres park work, awards signage contracts and buys digital sign

The City Council approved final acceptance of construction work at Glendell Acres Park and authorized payment to CM Concrete after staff removed the signage portion of the contract to avoid liquidated damages and identified another contractor to complete signage. CIP Project Manager Holly Robertson told council that substantial completion was achieved Oct. 31 and that remaining punch-list items were completed except for signage.
Council approved a $27,181 contract with Combes Construction to build monument and park rules signs for Manor Park and Glendell Acres, a scope staff said fit within the remaining project budget. Council also approved purchase of an 8mm LED digital sign from Lumineo Signs for $15,549, including mounting, installation, cellular data and software; staff recommended the LED option for durability and messaging needs.
Council voted 5-0 on final acceptance and on the Combes and Lumineo purchases. Staff said final engineering and inspection invoices are expected to be under budget and that a final project accounting will be presented to council to recommend use of any remaining funds.
