Superintendent: Greenwood 51 readies for school year with facilities work, laptops and centennial events

He said 38 windows have been ordered and several remodeling projects — including locker room floor resealing and two remodeled classrooms — are finished or underway.
The district has received 320 Dell Latitude laptops that are being imaged and prepared for students; Dr. Crockett said they are awaiting cases and will go to high‑school and eighth‑grade students. He also reported about 85 students attended summer school and praised summer‑school teachers for their efforts.
Dr. Crockett announced a centennial rededication for the high school with alumni events beginning Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. He expressed optimism about rising academic achievement and graduation rates and closed by urging staff and the community to continue momentum into the new year.
The update closed with a short budget synopsis: Dr. Crockett said the district "made our budget" for the year and is budgeting conservatively while waiting on the state budget to be finalized.
