Greenwood 51 trustees sworn in; board elects chair, vice chair and secretaries

Greenwood 51’s Board of Trustees opened its July meeting by administering the oath of office to reelected trustees and then setting leadership for the 2026–27 school year.
Katie Quinn was nominated and approved to serve as board chair after a motion and second. Amanda ("Mandy") Salter was nominated and approved as vice chair. The board also approved Rodney Freid as secretary and appointed Miss Davenport as recording secretary for board meeting minutes.
The leadership votes were taken by members raising hands after motions and seconds were recorded; the meetings’ presiding official announced that the motions carried. No formal roll-call tallies were read into the record.
The board paused briefly during the oath administration to invite family members forward for photographs and to recognize returning members before moving on to the superintendent’s update and the evening’s action items.
The meeting ended after a final motion to adjourn; trustees were asked to gather for a welcome-back photo with the South Carolina School Boards Association immediately after the meeting.
