Box Elder approves service agreement for new online budgeting and engagement tools

The Box Elder City Council approved a services agreement to expand its community engagement software with modules from Policy Confluence Inc.
Renee Baker, assistant finance officer, told the council the city already contracts for POCO community engagement and survey software and is proposing budgeted supplements that include Balancing Act (a budget-simulation tool for residents and council), a taxpayer receipt that breaks down city service costs by tax source, and a Prioritize module for project ranking. Baker said the tools are intended to increase public participation in budgeting and planning. “It’s fully customizable and that allows for better outcomes and engagement across the community,” she said.
The council moved, seconded, and approved the services agreement by roll call.
