Oak Hill approves $75,000 purchase of Halifax Avenue parcels to expand open space

A commissioner moved to proceed with the purchase and requested a closing by Jan. 15; the motion was seconded. A roll call was held and commissioners voted yes, authorizing the closing and the use of ARPA funds.
Commissioners said the land would increase open space, provide scenic value and help address flooding and drainage issues in the neighborhood and downstream to Nancy County Park and the lagoon.
What happens next: staff will pursue closing under the terms presented and report back with any needed extensions or title matters prior to final settlement.
