The Commission also adopted Resolution 2024‑17, repealing the earlier Resolution 2023‑18 that designated email addresses for commissioners. Mayor Joey Raspe moved and Vice‑Mayor Freddie Foster seconded the motion; the vote was unanimous.
On personnel/operations, the Commission approved giving two additional paid holidays for city staff — Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 — and approved the appointment of Robert Michon as an alternate member to the Beautification Committee per committee recommendation.
Public comment: Resident Florence Schmidt asked the Commission to explain the need for proposed fee increases and what monies are necessary for city operations; several written correspondences were summarized by City Clerk Silvia Roussin prior to the discussion. Resident Donald Steamer asked that solar power options be considered in City Hall planning.
What’s next: Staff will prepare a written explanation of fee rationale for the next meeting and present additional information after the Monday town hall as requested by commissioners. The ordinance is effective as adopted; postponed fee items will return to a future agenda for final action.
