Keystone Heights City Council on Feb. 3 approved its consent agenda, reviewed the city’s 2025 event schedule and set timelines for several personnel evaluations and election preparations.
The consent agenda included event applications (for example, a Freedom 5K by the Jordan Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund) and food-truck permits; Councilman Tony Brown moved to accept the consent agenda and Vice Mayor Christine Thompson seconded. The motion carried 5-0.
Event Coordinator Drew Bell presented the 2025 events calendar. The council discussed performance-evaluation timelines for the City Clerk and City Manager; Mayor Nina Rodenroth said she would mentor Clerk Silva and Attorney Komando clarified evaluations will be one-on-one. Evan Stanley agreed to contact Clerk Silva about serving on the canvassing board, with Councilman Kussler as alternate.
Clerk Silva reported that the Logic and Accuracy test is scheduled for April 4, 2025, and that ballot bags and seals will be picked up the week of Feb. 24, 2025. City Manager Van Zant updated the council on the golf course and fencing at China Chef and said he has been working on outreach to Tallahassee. Attorney Komando reminded council members about Clay Day on April 23-24, 2025, and congratulated Ryan Knight as an upcoming council member.
