Scott Beyer, a citizen member who called the meeting to order, said members agreed the work is “still a very new endeavor” and should be elevated to standing status. Committee members present — Trustee Cathy Hughes and citizen members Tom Hansen and Mike Kelnhofer — voted to forward the proposal to the Village Board for consideration.
The vote to approve the meeting agenda earlier in the session was also unanimous. The committee did not formalize the draft language for the board request at the meeting; minutes state only that the group would ask the board to allow a standing committee. The item will appear on the Village Board’s agenda if the board accepts the referral.
The committee set its next meeting for July 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Village Board Room. The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
