Underwood council approves $380,000 purchase for new fire station; approves sheriff cameras

Separately, the council approved placement of Pottawattamie County Sheriff Department-owned security cameras on the fire station. The minutes say Fire Chief Todd Erwin had approved the camera placement in advance of the meeting; the motion to allow placement was moved by Kelle Erwin, seconded by Keith Rodenburg and carried 5-0.
Mayor Josh Madsen also read and the council adopted Resolution 26-06-04 clarifying responsibilities tied to the city-held two-year social and charitable gambling license. The resolution states the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department previously agreed to responsibilities and that Fire Chief Todd Erwin had approved those responsibilities prior to the meeting. The resolution was adopted by roll call vote 5-0.
Council did not attach other conditions to the property purchase in the minutes. The meeting record shows the vote and the related camera approval occurred as discrete agenda items; the city administrator/clerk and mayor will carry out the paperwork referenced by the motions.
