Warren FD logs 51 April calls and outlines event coverage plans for FIFA visits and Memorial Day

Warren Township Volunteer Fire Department officers reviewed April call volume and mapped staffing needs for several community events during their May 6 meeting.
Aram Kachidurian presented the department’s April activity totals: 51 calls including five fires, nine hazardous incidents and 21 false alarms. He said incident-reporting delays remain a problem in Red Alert and that outstanding server-access issues are preventing completion of NIFRS reporting; he will circulate a list of members who must close pre-2026 reports.
Dave Dante described planned public-engagement assignments: Warren FD was asked to attend the Lions Expo (June 10–13), a centennial event at Phillips Field on May 30 and a soccer watch party June 19 at the field next to Town Hall (two trucks and two crews requested). The township will host visiting FIFA teams in late May through mid-June and may provide backup for a large Bernards Township event on June 13 that expects about 15,000 attendees. The Memorial Day parade is scheduled for May 25.
Chief leadership asked companies to coordinate apparatus coverage and to account for vehicles that will be out for maintenance while confirming that township firefighters who are municipal employees can attend daytime calls. Dan reported quarterly vehicle inspections will be implemented following a meeting with Doug Buro.
The department closed by asking volunteer members to complete annual requirements and by reminding stations to coordinate staffing for the busy event calendar.
